From the serene Wyre Forest in Staffordshire to the bustling streets of Glasgow, this street connects people and places. In Dudley, it weaves through neighborhoods, offering glimpses of everyday life. Meanwhile, in Brighton and Hove, Washington Street invites visitors to explore its vibrant surroundings. But perhaps one of the most iconic images associated with Washington Street lies thousands of miles away from these locations - the Lenox Building in Chicago. This architectural marvel stands tall as a testament to human ingenuity since 1872. Carter Drake and Wight were the masterminds behind this magnificent structure that has become an integral part of Chicago's skyline. However, history tells us that not all was smooth sailing for Washington Street. The Ruins of Chicago serve as a haunting reminder of the devastating fire that ravaged the city years ago. Yet even amidst destruction, resilience prevailed as depicted by Fireboard's oil painting showcasing Court House Square in Salem during 1810-20.
