With the arrival of Spring, children's imaginations soar as they venture into their very own Wendy house. This delightful lithograph from c1905 takes us high up in the tree tops where little ones find solace and endless adventures within their cozy abode. Crafted out of cardboard, this Wendy house becomes a haven for playtime creativity. As we flip through the pages of Hamleys Toy Shop catalogue from 1937, we glimpse at the timeless appeal of these miniature homes that have captured generations' hearts. The joyous scenes continue to unfold as children immerse themselves in imaginative play, constructing stories and memories within the walls of their beloved Wendy houses made out of humble cardboard materials. Fast forward to April 1981, where PM 81-01784 captures yet another group of youngsters engrossed in playful activities inside their cherished Wendy house. These enduring toys stand as a testament to childhood innocence and boundless imagination – reminding us all that sometimes all you need is a simple structure filled with dreams to create lifelong memories.
