"Woolly Wonders: From Long Trails to Knitting Tales" Step into a world where wool reigns supreme, as we embark on a journey through various captivating scenes. Inspired by Mabel Lucie Attwell's enchanting book "Theres a Long, Long Trail, " our adventure begins. First stop: the whimsical illustrations of W. Heath Robinson, where imagination runs wild and wool takes on extraordinary forms. Next, we find ourselves transported to the golden age of cinema with Errol Flynn in Warner's classic film "Woolly. " A tale that intertwines romance and adventure against breathtaking backdrops. As we move closer to nature, we witness the timeless tradition of salmon netting at Bideford, Devon – hardworking individuals relying on their trusty woollen nets for sustenance. The pastoral scene continues with a shepherd tending to his flock during feeding time in Byworth, October 1933; an idyllic moment captured forever. Texel's Milk Sheep Ewe and her lamb greet us next – their fluffy coats reminding us of the incredible versatility of wool. Our journey then takes an ancient turn as we encounter Arthur Hayward's prehistoric reconstruction of the majestic Woolly Mammoth; its shaggy coat protecting it from harsh climates long ago. Venturing further into Scotland, we meet the rugged Scottish Black Face Sheep Ram – resilient creatures thriving amidst challenging landscapes. But not all is serious in this woolly world. A mischievous kitten finds itself tangled in yarn, showcasing both adorable chaos and endless possibilities for creativity. The thrill-seekers among us are beckoned towards motocross madness at Wild and Woolly Motocross multi multi 2008 – adrenaline pumping through every twist and turn while riders don their protective woollen gear. Finally, our expedition concludes with Wensleydale Sheep SGI 2819 & Lamb; their lustrous locks epitomizing elegance and grace.
