Consecration of All Saints Church, Windsor, 1864. Creator: Unknown

Consecration of All Saints Church, Windsor, 1864. The church, an adaptation of the Gothic, has been erected as a chapel of ease to the parish church of New Windsor, and has been designed with a view to future enlargement, but at present it contains sittings for about 600 adults. It consists of a nave and south aisle, chancel, and organ chamber, with temporary vestry underneath, separated from the chancel by an elegantly-painted wooden screen. The building is of brick, with Bath stone dressings...The sermon was preached by the Bishop of Oxford, who selected for his text the words, "And for all there were so many, yet was not the net broken, " being a portion of the 11th verse of the 21st chapter of the Gospel of St. John. From this text the Right Rev. Prelate delivered a highly impressive discourse, in which he alluded to the increased population of Windsor, which had necessitated an extension of church accommodation'. From "Illustrated London News", 1864
