Education and Arbitration, 1871. A caricature of Anthony John Mundella, British Liberal politician. Mundella (1825-1897) served as MP for Sheffield from 1868-1885 and for Sheffield Brightside from 1885 until his death. He was President of the Board of Trade in 1886 and again from 1892-1894. Before his parliamentary career he was a hosiery manufacturer who was instrumental in setting up the first courts of conciliation and arbitration to resolve industrial disputes between owners and workers.
