He was born with haemophilia, a genetic disorder that affects the blood's ability to clot, which would ultimately claim his life. The cause of his death was a cerebral haemorrhage, believed to have been brought on by a fall. The photograph shows the Duke and Duchess of Albany in formal attire, with Leopold sporting a full moustache and Helen wearing an elegant Victorian gown.
