This hand-coloured engraving captures a tragic moment in the history of balloon flight. Entitled "Ballooning CVS01_01_036 (Tales of balloon flight)" it showcases MP Walter Powell and Captain Templer suspended in the basket of the Saladin balloon. The image dates back to 10th December 1881, when disaster struck near Bridport.
