CLIFTON SUSPENSION BRIDGE, CLIFTON, CITY OF BRISTOL. Clifton Suspension Bridge, viewed from the north.
Clifton Suspension Bridge was designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel in 1829-31, and was completed in 1864, after Brunels death. Chains from Hungerford Bridge, also designed by Brunel, were used in the Clifton Suspension Bridge. The bridge spans the Avon Gorge and forms a major landmark.
