EDITORS COMMENTS
This print captures a moment of pure joy and excitement at the annual Laing Sports Day held in Copthall Stadium, Hendon, Greater London. The image showcases a skipping race, with a group of young girls eagerly leaving the starting line while spectators cheer them on from the grandstand beyond. Taken in 1966, this event marked a significant change as it was the first time that the sports day had been hosted at Copthall Stadium instead of its usual location at the Laing Sports Ground in Elstree.
