Restoration Sport Sports Timber Framed Victorian Tudorbethan

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print captures the essence of Leyton County Cricket Club's historic pavilion, located in Greater London. Standing proudly on Crawley Road, this magnificent structure was originally built for Essex County Cricket Club in 1886 and designed by Richard Creed. The pavilion is a true testament to Victorian architecture with its timber-framed Tudorbethan style. In this image, taken from the east on match day, we witness the pavilion in all its glory. Its grandeur and elegance are truly awe-inspiring as it overlooks the cricket field, ready to host thrilling matches and create lasting memories for players and spectators alike. Listed as a Grade II building in 1999, this remarkable piece of history has undergone meticulous restoration work over the years. It serves as a reminder of our rich sporting heritage and pays homage to an era when cricket held great significance within local communities. Although Essex County Cricket Club moved away from this ground back in 1933, the Leyton County Cricket Club continues to cherish their beloved pavilion. This iconic landmark stands as a symbol of tradition and passion for the sport that unites people across generations. Simon Inglis skillfully captured this momentous scene through his lens, preserving not only an architectural masterpiece but also immortalizing the spirit of cricket within these walls.
