The Old House UXC01_01_01_0069_23

The Old House, St Peter's Street, Hereford. View of the side elevation of The Old House on St Peter's Street, a timber-framed building built c1621, formerly used as a shop and residence, and now a museum, showing the junction between St Peter's Street, High Town and Commercial Street.
The building is timber-framed with plaster infill, three storeys with attic and basement. The side elevation in the image has a pentice roof that wraps around the house over the ground floor, covering the large window and door to the right, which is currently used as the museum entrance. Above is a single large bay window, and on the second floor, a smaller bay window, all with own roofing, underneath the gable. The house is on St Peter's Street, just away from a junction that connects the north end of the street with High Town and Commercial Street, which can be seen in the background, with cars and pedestrians

Built in 1621, this timber-framed building has stood the test of time and now serves as a museum, preserving its rich history for all to admire. The side elevation showcased in the image reveals intricate details that make this house truly remarkable. A pentice roof gracefully wraps around the ground floor, providing shelter for a large window and door which serve as the entrance to the museum. Above, a grand bay window adorns the first floor, while a smaller bay window graces the second floor. Each is crowned with its own roofing, adding an elegant touch to this historic structure.
