Depicting the Battle of Fuentes d Onoro, this exquisite piece is housed in APSLEY HOUSE, located at Hyde Park Corner in London. The plate belongs to the Wellington Museum and portrays another battle, the Battle of Roleia (Rolica) which took place in Portugal in 1808 during the Peninsular War. What makes this dessert plate truly remarkable is its origin as a gift from the King of Prussia to the Duke of Wellington back in 1819.
