EDITORS COMMENTS
In this photograph, the towering figure of an Ankylosaurus, an extinct herbivorous dinosaur from the late Cretaceous period, comes to life through the intricate artistry of Kokoro Dreams, a renowned Japanese animatronics company. This animatronic model was a star attraction in the T-Rex Killer Question temporary exhibition held from 1st August 2002 to 3rd May 2003. The Ankylosaurus, a member of the Ankylosauridae family and the Ankylosaurinae subfamily, is distinguished by its unique armor-plated body and club-like tail. This armored dinosaur, which belonged to the Diapsida class, Archosauria order, and Dinosauria clade, is believed to have roamed the Mesozoic Era, specifically the Late Cretaceous period, around 71 million to 68 million years ago. The Ankylosaurus in this photograph appears to be in a peaceful feeding position, showcasing its powerful jaws and beaked mouth, which scientists believe were used for grinding vegetation. The dinosaur's armor, which covered its head, back, and sides, protected it from predators. The Ankylosaurus is also identified as a member of the Eurypoda suborder and the Ankylosaurid superfamily. The animatronic model's lifelike features, brought to life by the skilled artisans at Kokoro Dreams, transport visitors back to the Mesozoic Era, offering a glimpse into the fascinating world of dinosaurs. This photograph is a testament to the company's dedication to preserving the history and wonder of these prehistoric creatures.
