This exquisite handcolored copperplate engraving depicts Captain Franklin's Eutoca, also known as Franklin's Scorpionweed (Phacelia franklinii), a rare and beautiful plant discovered by the renowned English explorer, Captain Francis Parkinson Franklin (1771-1840).
