The daughter of Sir Charles Braham, 9th Baronet, and his wife, Frances Anne, she was the wife of seven successive husbands: John J. Waldegrave, George Waldegrave, seventh Earl of Waldegrave, George Harcourt, and Baron Carlingford. Frances' first marriage to John J. Waldegrave took place in 1842, but the union was short-lived as John passed away in 1844. In 1846, she married George Waldegrave, the seventh Earl of Waldegrave, with whom she had five children. Their marriage ended in 1853, and Frances became the wife of George Harcourt in 1854. Her final marriage was to the Baron Carlingford in 1876. Throughout her eventful life, Frances Elizabeth Anne Braham was known for her intelligence, charm, and resilience.
