Ornate decorative panel commemorating a football match between St. John s, Battersea and St. Mark s, Chelsea on March 6th 1907. In 1923 St. Marks merged with St John s, the merged institution becoming the College of St Mark and St John, based in Chelsea. The College of St Mark & St John moved to Plymouth in 1973 when the Chelsea site became too small and is now known as the University of St Mark & St John, Plymouth or Marjon. The two original Colleges were fierce rival institutions, both educationally and in the fields of sport and military drilling. Date: 1907
