This evocative image captures a moment in the childhood of Charles X, who would later become King of France from 1824 to 1830. In the photograph, the young prince, known as Charles Philippe de France, Comte d'Artois, is depicted with his sister, Marie-Adelaide-Clotilde-Xaviere, who would later become Queen of Sardinia. The siblings are seen dressed in the elegant attire of the French aristocracy, with Charles wearing a red velvet jacket and Marie-Adelaide in a blue gown adorned with lace.
