M.C Gardner took first place piloting a Percival Vega Gull while other aviators followed closely behind flying predominantly Gipsy Six engine-equipped planes such as Miles Hawks and Percival Mew Gulls among others including one De Havilland Dragonfly (Gypsy Majors).
