The Peter Robinson department store was founded in 1833, becoming part of the Burton group in 1946. In the 1960s, Peter Robinson's created Top Shop, aimed at the younger buyer and new designers. The Peter Robinson brand was phased out by the end of the 1970s. Burton's and Top Shop became part of the Arcadia Group, founded in 2002. Date: 1925
