EDITORS COMMENTS
A delightful scene from the 1920s: Children Collecting Fir Cones by Terry Parker, 1925. In this charming photograph, a group of children dressed in their Sunday best are seen enthusiastically shaking a large fir tree, their baskets at the ready to collect the precious cones that rain down from its branches. The children's joy and excitement are palpable as they work together to fill their baskets with the green treasures. The tree's massive trunk towers over them, its lush foliage providing a beautiful backdrop to the scene. The grass beneath their feet is a vibrant green, and the garden is adorned with an array of colourful flowers. Two children, Dorothy and Rees Collins, are identified in this 10th edition annual print from 1925. This photograph captures the essence of childhood innocence and the simple pleasures of nature during the 1920s.
