Originally ordered as HMS Powerful for the Royal Navy, this vessel was later transferred to Canada and commissioned into the Royal Canadian Navy. The Majestic-class aircraft carriers were designed to provide the Royal Navy with a powerful and versatile fleet capable of projecting air power and supporting amphibious operations. HMCS Bonaventure, with her impressive size and imposing presence, embodies this capability. In this image, we see the carrier bathed in soft light, with the sun casting long shadows on the water.
