The Scottish author, renowned for his literary works of adventure and romance, including "Treasure Island" and "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde," found refuge and inspiration in this South Pacific paradise during the latter years of his life. Stevenson, who had long dreamed of living in the tropics, arrived in Samoa in 1890 with his wife Fanny and their young son Lloyd. This is my last and greatest work." The inscription reflects the author's adventurous spirit and his deep connection to nature, which are themes that resonate throughout his body of work.
