The XB-47 was designed and manufactured by Boeing as a response to the United States Army Air Forces' requirement for a high-speed, long-range transport aircraft capable of carrying troops and cargo over long distances. Powered by four General Electric J35 turbojet engines, this sleek and innovative aircraft boasted a top speed of over 400 miles per hour, making it one of the fastest transport aircraft of its time.
