This exquisite hand-colored copperplate stipple engraving, taken from Antoine Jussieu's "Dictionnaire de Naturalisation," published in Florence, Italy, in 1837, showcases two fascinating species from the natural world: the North American skunk, Mephitis mephitis, and the endangered Kamchatka sea otter, Enhydra lutris.
