The Thunderchief, a iconic American military aircraft, was produced by Republic Aviation between 1955 and 1961. This particular aircraft served in the United States Air Force (USAF) from 1958 until its retirement in 1976. The F-105D-5-RE Thunderchief was an advanced variant of the Thunderchief series, featuring an upgraded Avco Lycoming TF30-P-12A turbofan engine, which increased the aircraft's thrust and allowed for supersonic flight.
