It lacks the style and elegant finish of todays saloon car

It lacks the style and elegant finish of todays saloon car, but this replica of Henry Fords first model caused as much interest as any product just off the assemly line when it visited Fords Imperial Foundry at Leamington. The replica was built by Ford apprentices at the Dagenham works to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Henry Ford, founder of the Ford car empire. Before being used in exhibitions up and down the country, it is being shown to employees at various Ford plants throughout Britain. Mr. G. Jackson, manager of the Imperial Foundry, said that 20 apprentices at Dagenham took six months to complete the replica, most of the parts being hand-made. It is capable of a maximum speed of 20 m.p.h. and is described as a " quadricycle." It is a 4 h.p. model with a 2-cylinder engine.
