Dr. Billy Graham, who has to keep fit for his London campaign trotted
Dr. Billy Graham, who has to keep fit for his London campaign trotted and walked in Hyde Park today. In sports gear which gave him the impression of a boxer come baseball player complete with jockey cap, he left the Kensington Palace Hotel with Curtis Mitchell, aged 62 and authority on physical fitness to run in Hyde Park. As he crossed over the Zebra Crossing with an army of photographers, reporters, film and television cameramen even Cassius Clay would have been envious of the turn out. Father Benjamin Archer from Chelmsford gets a close up view. 7th June 1966

EDITORS COMMENTS
Dr. Billy Graham, renowned evangelical Christian evangelist, takes a break from his rigorous London campaign to indulge in some physical fitness activities at Hyde Park. Dressed in sports gear that resembled a combination of a boxer and baseball player, complete with a stylish jockey cap, Dr. Graham exuded an air of athleticism as he left the Kensington Palace Hotel accompanied by Curtis Mitchell, an authority on physical fitness. As they made their way through the bustling streets, crossing over the Zebra Crossing surrounded by an army of photographers, reporters, film crews, and television cameramen capturing every moment of this extraordinary scene; one couldn't help but be reminded of the legendary Cassius Clay himself who would have surely been envious of such attention. Amongst the crowd stood Father Benjamin Archer from Chelmsford who was fortunate enough to witness this spectacle up close. The year was 1966 when this photograph was taken by George Greenwell - forever immortalizing Dr. Billy Graham's commitment not only to spreading his religious message but also to maintaining his physical well-being through exercise and training. This snapshot captures a unique intersection between religion and athleticism during the vibrant 1960s era. It serves as a testament to Dr. Graham's dedication towards both spiritual enlightenment and physical vitality.
