For 14 years the chaps in this picture have been making people laugh

For 14 years the chaps in this picture have been making people laugh - and raising families. Yesterday they put on their happiest show yet, for the people they made laugh were their own children. The title Happy Families would fill the bill for this little show put on by the actors, actresses and backstage staff who, with Brian Rix, stage those successful farces at Londons Whitehall Theatre. They held a party for some of the forty children born to members of their laughter gang since the shows started in 1950. Brian Rix is pictured with fellow cast members and children. 19th July 1964

EDITORS COMMENTS
This heartwarming print captures a truly special moment in the lives of the talented individuals who have been bringing laughter to audiences for 14 years. The chaps in this picture, along with their fellow cast members and backstage staff, have not only entertained countless people at London's Whitehall Theatre but have also built beautiful families alongside their successful careers. Yesterday marked an extraordinary occasion as these performers put on their happiest show yet – a private performance for the very children they had brought into this world. Titled "Happy Families" this intimate gathering celebrated the forty children born to members of this laughter gang since their shows began back in 1950. In this snapshot from July 19th, 1964, we see Brian Rix, one of the leading actors and a beloved figure among his colleagues and fans alike. He stands proudly amongst his fellow cast members while surrounded by joyful children. Their beaming smiles reflect not only the love shared within these families but also the immense joy that comes from being part of such a vibrant theatrical community. This image is a testament to both the enduring success of these farces and the deep bonds formed between those who bring them to life. It serves as a reminder that beyond all the laughs and applause lies something even more precious – cherished relationships and happy memories created both on stage and off.
