1960 marks the 20th anniversary of the battle of Britain, when the German attempt to bomb the British people into submission was defeated by the pilots and planes of fighter command, Royal Air Force.
The battle lasted from 10th July to 31st October, 1940 the Germans lost 1, 733 planes and the Royal Air Force 915.
