New mobile kitchen presented through Mr and Mrs Kenneth R Munro of Lane End, Caldy, Merseyside, by Mr Hendon Chubb of West Orange, New Jersey, to Birkenhead for work among the Rescue Squads. Its capable of providing 500 hot meals an is operated by members of the WVS.
Rescue Squad members working in a blitzed area in the town are seen with the Mayor (councillor WER Short) and Mr and Mrs Munro having a cup of tea after the presentation.
At this time, June 1941, Merseyside had been suffering badly from The Liverpool Blitz, German air raids.
