Robert de Cardinham and his party leave the town after granting the town Charter during the Pageant of History of Lostwithiel 1189 to 1989. Over 2, 500 people watched the pageant held in the grounds of Restormel Castle. 144 of the towns residents took part in the plays, which commemorated 800 years of the town being granted a Charter.
