Lanherne Convent, St Mawgan in Pydar, Cornwall. Early 1900s
A view of Lanherne Convent taken from the front in winter. Lanherne was formerly the Manor House of the Arundell family and home of the prominent Catholic Sir John Arundell in the 16th century. It became a place of refuge for many priests during the Reformation. In 1794 the manor was given to the Carmelite nuns and still runs as a convent. Photographer: Unknown.
