Artwork of a spinosaurus dinosaur F006 / 9718

Spinosaurus (meaning spine lizard ) was arguably the largest known meat-eating dinosaur. It was longer even than Tyrannosaurus and Giganotosaurus at, according to one estimate, up to 18m in length. Named for the elongated spinal bones that make up the curious sail on its back, spinosaurus was probably a fish-eater. Its head was narrow like that of a crocodile and, like that animal, might have spent its life on land and in water. It lived towards the end of the Cretaceous period, in what is now northern Africa

EDITORS COMMENTS
This artwork print showcases the magnificent spinosaurus dinosaur, known for its immense size and fearsome nature. With a length estimated to reach up to 18 meters, it surpasses even the renowned Tyrannosaurus and Giganotosaurus in terms of sheer length. Aptly named after the elongated spinal bones that form an intriguing sail on its back, this prehistoric creature is believed to have been primarily a fish-eater. The narrow head resembling that of a crocodile suggests that the spinosaurus may have spent considerable time both on land and in water. Its existence dates back to the late Cretaceous period, specifically in what we now recognize as northern Africa. This remarkable illustration captures not only its physical attributes but also highlights its role as a predator within ancient ecosystems. The detail-oriented depiction portrays this extinct theropod with precision, showcasing its powerful jaw and predatory instincts. The stormy backdrop adds an element of drama to this scene from prehistory, emphasizing the awe-inspiring presence of this reptilian giant. Mark Garlick's artwork beautifully brings forth our fascination with these long-gone creatures while reminding us of their significant place in Earth's history. As we gaze upon this print, we are transported back millions of years ago when dinosaurs roamed our planet - a testament to the incredible diversity and wonder found within our natural world.
