Cupping set comprising of four cups and two brass and steel scarificators. These are contained within a morocco leather case which bares the word Cookie, in gold letters on the inner lining. This set would have been used in a procedure called wet cupping, a form of bloodletting used in the nineteenth century to treat a range of ailments by removing surplus bodily humours (fluids within the body). The set is English and dates from around 1860
