SpaceLiner transport, artwork C016 / 6383

SpaceLiner transport. Artwork of the suborbital, hypersonic passenger transport being studied by the SART (Space Launcher Systems Analysis) group at the German Aerospace Centre (DLR). This design has been studied since 2005. The latest designs are 65 metres long, carrying 50 to 100 passengers and 2 crew. Rocket engines and boosters are used to reach altitudes of 80 kilometres and speeds 20 times that of sound. It would take 90 minutes in gliding sub-orbital flight to reach destinations thousands of kilometres away on the other side of the world. By 2012, several configurations had been designed, with the latest being SpaceLiner 7

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases the futuristic concept of the SpaceLiner transport, a cutting-edge suborbital passenger aircraft being studied by the SART group at the German Aerospace Centre (DLR). Created in 2005, this awe-inspiring design has undergone continuous refinement and innovation. With its sleek white exterior against a clean background, it exudes an air of technological advancement. Measuring an impressive 65 meters in length, this remarkable spacecraft can accommodate between 50 to 100 passengers along with a crew of two. Powered by rocket engines and boosters, it is capable of soaring to altitudes reaching up to 80 kilometers while achieving speeds twenty times faster than sound itself. In just ninety minutes of gliding through sub-orbital flight, this extraordinary vessel could transport individuals across vast distances on opposite ends of our planet. The intricate illustration reveals multiple configurations that have been explored over time, culminating in the latest iteration known as SpaceLiner 7. Its delta wing glider design and advanced propulsion system make it a marvel within the realm of aviation and space exploration. Crafted by renowned artist Detlev van Ravenswaay for Science Photo Library, this image encapsulates both scientific ingenuity and artistic vision. It serves as a testament to humanity's unwavering pursuit of progress in aerospace technology while igniting our imagination about what may lie ahead in the future of intercontinental travel.
