Victor Fedorovich Bolkhovitinov (1899-1970), Soviet aircraft designer. Bolkhovitinov, who reached the military rank of Major General, studied at the Zhukovsky Military-Aviation Engineering Academy near Moscow and worked there as a teacher and aircraft designer for most of his career. In the 1930s and 1940s he worked on aircraft design, forming his own design bureau for experimental aircraft called OKB-293. Designs included a large bomber and a rocket-powered interceptor, neither of which entered service. Photographed in Moscow, Russia, in 1965
