Driving witout relief for the whole 250 miles of the course, R J B Seaman ( Maserati ) won the British Empire trophy race, the first big car race of the season at Donington Park, Derby. He averaged 66.33 miles per hour.
Ps Fairfield ( E F A ) was second and W C Everitt ( Alfa Romeo ) was third. Twenty seven of Britains finest drivers competed in the event.
