Guards present to Princess. An Imperial red and gold dessert service has been ordered

Guards present to Princess. An Imperial red and gold dessert service has been ordered by the Brigade of Guards as a wedding present for Princess Elizabeth and is being made at Worcester by the Royal Porcelain Company. It is one of four china services being made as wedding presents, for the Brigade of Guards, the City of Worcester and the Worshipful Company of Carpenters, none of which will be ready until nearly a year after the marriage. These pictures are of samples of the dessert service, now being prepared for the display of wedding presents at St James Palace. Photo shows: One of the plates of the dessert service. Basic colour is Imperial red enriched by an embossed gold filigree decoration. Regimental badge in centre is that of Grenadier Guards, of which the Princess is Colonel-in-Chief.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this photo print, we are presented with a glimpse of the grandeur surrounding Princess Elizabeth's wedding. The Brigade of Guards has commissioned an exquisite Imperial red and gold dessert service as their gift to the soon-to-be princess bride. Created by the skilled artisans at Worcester's Royal Porcelain Company, this opulent china set is one of four being crafted for various esteemed organizations. Although these magnificent gifts will not be ready until nearly a year after the marriage, samples from the dessert service are currently on display at St James Palace. This particular plate showcases the regal combination of Imperial red and embossed gold filigree decoration. At its center proudly sits the regimental badge of Grenadier Guards, symbolizing Princess Elizabeth's role as Colonel-in-Chief. The significance of this photograph extends beyond its aesthetic appeal; it captures a moment in history when two individuals, Philip Mountbatten and Queen Elizabeth II, embarked on their journey together as husband and wife. It serves as a reminder that even amidst elaborate celebrations and lavish presents, love remains at the heart of every royal union.
