In this photo print, taken on November 10,1928, we witness a historic clash between Notre Dame and Army at the iconic Yankee Stadium in New York City. The atmosphere is electric as Jack Chevigny of Notre Dame charges forward, making an impressive twenty-five yard gain against the formidable Army team. This game holds particular significance as it took place shortly after Knute Rockne's legendary "Win One For The Gipper" speech. This powerful moment symbolized the indomitable spirit of Notre Dame and fueled their eventual victory with a final score of 12-6. However, amidst these triumphs lies a tragic twist. Jack Chevigny's life was cut short during World War II when he valiantly fought in the battle of Iwo Jima.
