EDITORS COMMENTS
In this photograph, taken at Upton Park on September 24,2005, during the FA Premiership match between West Ham United and Arsenal, two formidable footballers, Alex Hleb of Arsenal and Yossi Benayoun of West Ham, face off against each other in a tense moment of the scoreless draw. The atmosphere at Upton Park was electric as two of the league's top teams went head-to-head. The crowd roared with anticipation as the players took to the field, each eager to secure a valuable three points. Hleb, a Belarusian international, had only joined Arsenal that summer from Borussia Dortmund, while Benayoun, an Israeli international, was in his second season with West Ham after a successful loan spell the previous year. Both players were known for their creativity, skill, and tenacity, making this matchup a must-watch for football fans. In the photograph, Hleb, wearing the Arsenal number 17 jersey, is seen in a defensive position, shielding the ball from Benayoun, who wears the West Ham number 10. Benayoun, with his determined expression and outstretched leg, is attempting to dispossess Hleb and create an opportunity for his team. Despite the best efforts of both teams, the match ended in a goalless draw, leaving fans and pundits alike eagerly anticipating their next encounter. This photograph, captured by David Price for Arsenal Football Club, encapsulates the intensity and passion of the beautiful game, as two talented players go head-to-head in a battle for supremacy.
