EDITORS COMMENTS
Great moment in Everton Football Club history captured in this print as Joleon Lescott scores the first goal for his new team against Birmingham City in the Barclays Premier League match held at St. Andrews on 12th April 2008. Lescott, who had joined Everton from Wolves in the January transfer window of that season, was thrilled to open his account for his new side in front of the traveling Toffees fans. The goal came in the second half, with Lescott rising above the Birmingham defense to head home a pinpoint cross from Leighton Baines. The crowd went wild as Lescott celebrated with his teammates, and the goal proved to be a crucial one in the game, as Everton went on to secure a hard-fought 2-1 victory. This goal marked a turning point in Lescott's Everton career, as he went on to become a key player for the Merseyside club, making over 200 appearances and helping them to reach the FA Cup Final in 2009. The defender's goal against Birmingham was a reminder of his attacking prowess, and it showed that he was more than just a solid defender. This photo print, taken by renowned sports photographer Tony O'Brien, captures the excitement and emotion of the moment perfectly. The image of Lescott celebrating with his teammates, the jubilant Everton fans in the background, and the determination etched on Lescott's face, all combine to make this a truly iconic moment in Everton's history.
