EDITORS COMMENTS
This image, sourced from the archives of the Literary Fund Society and published in the Illustrated London News in 1860, depicts the intricately designed daggers carried by the notorious English thieves Colonel Thomas Blood and his accomplice Robert Parrot during their daring attempt to steal the Regalia from the Tower of London. The exquisite chased and inlaid weapons, now in the possession of the Literary Fund Society, were seized from Blood and Parrot following their apprehension. The handles of the daggers are crafted from a rich, dark-red wood, while their sheaths are adorned with embossed leather.
