This illustration is taken from Johann Bernhard Basedow's "Elementarwerk" or "Elementary Work," a popular educational textbook for children published in 1770. The image, created by renowned German artist Daniel Nikolaus Chodowiecki, is featured in Table XXX(a) of the textbook. The scene depicts a European man, dressed in hunting attire, carrying a young boy on his back as they approach a dog and a pig. The man's hunting dog, also dressed in a collar and leash, stands alert, ready to assist in the hunt.
