The Duchess, who was the wife of the Duke of York and the future monarch of the United Kingdom, is dressed elegantly in a long-sleeved white blouse and a flowing skirt, accessorized with a hat and gloves. She is seen holding a pair of sunglasses in her hand, shielding her eyes from the sun. Behind the Duchess stands Princess Marie Louise of Schleswig-Holstein (1872-1956), who adds an air of regal sophistication to the scene.
