The Dragon Rapide, a versatile and popular aircraft of its time, was manufactured by de Havilland Aircraft Company and first registered to North Eastern Airways Ltd. on May 19, 1937. Before being registered to North Eastern Airways, this particular aircraft, with its distinctive green and white livery, served in the Royal Air Force under the designation X8507. Impressed into military service on March 26, 1940, it was struck off charge on June 13, 1941. The Dragon Rapide was a significant aircraft in the era of flying transport, capable of carrying up to 12 passengers and a pilot. Its twin engines ensured reliability and safety, making it a popular choice for both private and commercial use.
