Princess Alice of Greece
Princess Andrew of Greece (1885-1969), formerly Princess Alice of Battenberg. The eldest daughter of Prince Louis of Battenberg and Princess Victoria of Hesse, she married Prince Andrew of Greece in 1903 and was the mother of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Princess Alice founded a nursing order of Greek Orthodox nuns, the Christian Sisterhood of Martha and Mary and is seen wearing a nuns habit which she adopted in later life. Date: c.1960
