EDITORS COMMENTS
In the thrilling 2007/2008 Scottish Cup match between Rangers and East Stirlingshire, it was Lee McCulloch who kicked off the epic 6-0 victory for the Glasgow giants. The iconic moment was captured perfectly in this stunning photograph by Lynne Cameron. The season had already seen Rangers secure the SPL title, but the Scottish Cup was still up for grabs. The atmosphere at Ibrox Stadium was electric as the teams took to the pitch, with the home fans eagerly anticipating another triumph. In the 13th minute, McCulloch, a midfielder known for his tenacity and determination, seized the opportunity to score the opening goal. With a powerful strike from just outside the box, he sent the ball soaring past the East Stirlingshire goalkeeper and into the back of the net. The crowd erupted in jubilation, and McCulloch's teammates rushed to congratulate him. The goal was a pivotal moment in the match, setting the tone for the rest of the game and ultimately securing Rangers' place in the final. This photograph, taken by renowned sports photographer Lynne Cameron, perfectly encapsulates the excitement and energy of that moment. McCulloch's triumphant expression, the sea of orange and blue jerseys in the background, and the jubilant reaction of his teammates all combine to create a powerful and memorable image of a team at the height of its success.
