EDITORS COMMENTS
In this poignant moment captured at Filbert Street, former Reading Football Club winger Glen Little is seen applauding the jubilant away supporters, who have traveled in great numbers to witness history being made. The year was 2006, and the occasion was the final game of the Championship season between Leicester City and Reading. With both teams level on points, a draw would be enough for the Royals to secure promotion to the Premier League. The tension in the air was palpable as the teams took to the pitch, with the outcome of the game determining the fate of an entire season's worth of hard work and determination. As the minutes ticked by, it became clear that neither side was going to give an inch, and a stalemate seemed inevitable. As the final whistle blew, the relief and elation among the Reading fans was evident. They had done it - promotion to the promised land of the Premier League was theirs. The players, too, were overcome with emotion, and Glen Little, a key player in their successful campaign, was no exception. With a broad smile on his face and a proud look in his eyes, Little took a moment to acknowledge the fans who had traveled from Berkshire to Leicester to support their team. The scene is a testament to the special bond between players and supporters, and the unwavering loyalty and passion that football brings out in people. This photograph captures a moment of pure joy and triumph, a moment that will live long in the memory of Reading Football Club fans, and a moment that encapsulates the very essence of the beautiful game.
