16th October 2022: A Sea of Color and History - The HSCC Historic Touring Car Championship with Ecurie Classic at Silverstone Amidst the crisp autumn air of Northamptonshire, England, the Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit played host to the HSCC Historic Touring Car Championship with Ecurie Classic. This thrilling event brought together a diverse array of racing machines, spanning from the late 1940s to the late 1960s, for a 20-minute race filled with non-stop action. In this image, we find Eric Walker and his meticulously preserved Ford Anglia (CJ12 2866) taking on the challenging turns of Silverstone. The HSCC Historic Touring Car Championship, which combined several classifications into one race, showcased a multitude of separate classes, each with its unique characteristics. From the nimble four-pot engines below 1150cc to the powerful multi-litre V8s, the grid was a testament to the rich history of motor racing. The GT cars, tin tops, production sports cars, and pre-66 Club Racing GTs all took to the track, their drivers vying for the top spot.
