In this thrilling print from the 2022 Motor Racing Legends event at Silverstone Grand Prix Motor Circuit, we find ourselves in the heart of the action during the HRDC 'Gerry Marshall' Trophy Series race. The forty-five minute, two-driver event attracted over thirty cars, each vying for victory in this pre-1980s Touring Cars competition. The image captures the intensity of the race as Rover SD1, driven by Jerry Bailey, roars around the circuit. The car, adorned with the iconic HRDC livery, is a sight to behold as it navigates the winding turns of the Northamptonshire track. Bailey's focus is unwavering as he pushes the vehicle to its limits, leaving a trail of spray in his wake. The race was split into four classes, with one for drum-braked cars and three based on engine capacity. Additionally, a Willhire class was included for Invited Production Touring Cars. The grid was packed with a diverse array of tin tops, ranging from Group 1 to Group 1½ Touring Cars, all battling it out for top honors. Despite the challenging conditions, with rain adding an extra layer of complexity to the race, the drivers remained undeterred.
